About Me

Hello, my name is Douglas Thonen and I am a fine Artist. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Art from the University of South Florida in 2003. I draw and paint subject matter ranging from portraits and landscapes to abstract and expressionism. I work to express my perceived mood of my subject. I hope to give the viewer the choice to discover their own meaning behind my work. As for my view of my work and how it fits into the world, I can best express this by telling you I like sad songs and movies that don’t have happy endings, but I do feel that hope and love and things that we all need to get by.
